The hybrid mechanism.

One reusable 316L stainless steel encapsulated pinch head. One single-use disposable tubing flow path. Three actuation options on the same body. The architecture that lets a process keep stainless actuation discipline while running a disposable wetted path.

Every ARTēVA® variant shares the same fundamental architecture. The pinch head is encapsulated stainless · hygienic, corrosion-resistant, autoclavable, and built for repeated use, cleaning, and long-term performance in demanding bioprocess environments. The wetted flow path is single-use tubing, replaced between batches. Sterility is maintained by tubing replacement, not by cleaning validation of the pinch head.

Section 03 / 05 · Single-use tubing

Tubing compatibility.

ARTēVA® supports unbraided tubing in inside diameters from ⅛" to 1", across silicone and TPE single-use tubing formats. Tubing is validated by the tubing vendor; no separate ARTēVA® validation is required for the wetted flow path.

The central pinch geometry minimizes wear on the tubing wall, supporting closure reliability over 10,000+ cycles. Compatible with the major single-use bioprocess tubing manufacturers; the tubing is the disposable, the pinch head is the asset. Tubing change-over is the same operation as any pinch-valve recommission · no instrument calibration, no pinch-head removal, no actuator recalibration.

Unbraided silicone or TPE is the standard specification and needs no qualification. Braided and reinforced walls are stiffer, which is what the pinch head has to overcome, so send us a sample of the tubing you intend to use and we will test it before anything ships. Double-braid is the one that gives us trouble. If the line pressure is high enough that you need heavy reinforcement, a diaphragm valve is usually the better answer.

Both tubing formats are vendor-validated for USP Class VI compatibility · Aquasyn does not manufacture the tubing. The pinch head asset is reusable across every tubing change. If your process needs a specific tubing vendor validation match, note it in the Configure & quote form.
Unbraided as standard; braided on verification. Braided and reinforced tubing is workable but conditional. The reinforcing layer makes the wall stiffer, so whether a given tube closes reliably depends on the specific construction rather than on the category. Send a sample and we will test it before it ships; double-braid is the one we have had trouble with. Where a line needs the pressure rating that reinforced tubing carries, a diaphragm valve is the right choice · talk to us and we will point you at the size and body style that fits.
