The Aquasyn Difference

Aquasyn exists to eliminate compromise in hygienic-process components. That compromise has two sources, both invisible at procurement and both expensive when they surface in the field.

Cross-section comparison: Aquasyn bonnet with Tork-Tite feet (top) shows no entrapment area at the diaphragm corners; standard industry bonnet (bottom) shows entrapment area at the diaphragm corners.
Aquasyn bonnet floating above its valve body with Tork-Tite Feet and Integral Sealing Ridge called out · the sealing ring machined into the body, not bolted on

Integral Sealing Ridge

Most diaphragm valves place the primary seal on the diaphragm itself · which traps process fluid and forces the diaphragm to seal and flex at once. Aquasyn moves the seal to the body, machined into a single 5-axis pass, finished to 10–25Ra.

Eliminates entrapment between diaphragm and body, seal drift, extractables risk, and diaphragm double-duty · the diaphragm flexes, the body seals.

Design integrity

Blank-sheet engineering for hygienic purpose. Tork-Tite® feet, integral sealing ridge, precision-molded diaphragm.

Build quality

Consistent in-house manufacturing. One workshop, one engineering team, full documentation traceability on every part.

Customer voice

"I only buy Aquasyn because the quality is like no other."

Proven over thirty years

One founder, one workshop, one engineering team since 1996. The proof is in the fielded equipment, the patents, and the institutions that documented the work.

The single difference

Tork-Tite® Feet · a hard physical stop

When an operator tightens a manual valve, it is easy to over-tighten and crush the EPDM or PTFE diaphragm. The Tork-Tite feet act as a hard physical stop · the handwheel turns until the feet make metal-to-metal contact with the valve block, compressing the diaphragm by the exact right amount every time. Two-Way Variants & Multi-Port Diverters

Variants on the standard two-way diaphragm body · Valbow® integrated valve-elbow, Tee Body 3-way, and multi-port diverter assemblies. Same Tork-Tite® bonnet interface, same diaphragm options, same actuation choices · different process geometries solved at the body.

Valbow® · integrated valve-elbow

Order code · W · patented
Aquasyn Valbow integrated valve-elbow with branded bonnet block and tri-clamp arm

A valve and an elbow, machined as a single body. Eliminates the fitting that traditional installations require between a 2-way valve and a 90° turn · saves the weld, the centerline real estate, and the leak path. Originally engineered for the Sample Bottle Assembly (p. 13) where the integrated geometry tightens dimensions and removes a validation point · now also specified into tight-clearance skid layouts, point-of-use installations, and custom hybrid configurations.

Eliminates
The elbow fitting · the weld between valve and elbow · the centerline real estate · one more leak path, one more validation point.

Tee Body · 3-way

Order code · T

A 3-way diaphragm valve machined into a single tee-shaped body. One diaphragm seals two flow paths in one assembly · cuts the fitting count, the leak paths, and the centerline distance when a transfer, divert, or branch point would otherwise need two separate valves welded back-to-back. Same Tork-Tite® bonnet, same diaphragm compounds, same actuation options as the standard two-way line.

Used for
Transfer / divert points · sample takeoffs with isolation · CIP-supply branch off a main · any single-diaphragm 3-port assembly.
Photo coming

Multi-Port Diverters · 3 / 4 / 5-way

Horizontal & vertical · actuated or manual
Photo coming

Multi-combination diverter-style diaphragm valves · a cost-effective answer to overcrowding in complex piping layouts. Same quality customers expect from the rest of the Aquasyn line, machined into a block geometry that combines 3, 4, or 5 flow paths in a single body. Available in horizontal and vertical placements, actuated or manual, with maximum drainability built into the geometry.

Solves
Piping overcrowding · multiple separate valves welded into a single divert point · validation and fitting count.

All variants share the standard two-way body materials, surface finishes, diaphragm compounds, and actuation options (p. 05, p. 09). Configure at aquasyn.com/configure · part-number legend on p. 19.

Zero Static Tee · Points of Use

Block-body design with the tightest bend radii in the industry. True zero-static geometry, completely drainable, fully machined from a single block. Integrated sampling and custom options available across both lines.

Zero Static Tee bodies

Machined from a single block · zero dead leg

A hygienic tee where the side branch is machined directly into a single block, eliminating the dead leg a traditional welded tee creates. Used wherever a process line needs a sample port, drain, vent, or transfer takeoff without the bacterial risk of stagnant fluid · WFI and PW loops, CIP/SIP headers, bioreactor feed and return, fill-finish skids.

Points of Use

Tightest bend radii in the industry · minimal pressure drop

The drop-off valve from a recirculating clean utility loop (WFI, PW, clean steam) that delivers fluid to a fill station, sampling point, or equipment hookup. The U-shaped block keeps the main loop flowing past the valve · zero stagnant fluid between draws, fully drainable between uses. P1 / P2 / P3 orientations cover the standard piping geometries.

Tank Bottom Valves

The Aquasyn two-way diaphragm valve, configured at the vessel-bottom drain point. Two styles · Welded Flange and Tri-Tank · sized to the vessel, with the weir face moved close to the connection to eliminate stagnant fluid. Machined from 316L bar stock.

Sits at the lowest point of a tank or vessel to drain product, recover CIP rinse, or harvest a batch. The drain-optimized geometry eliminates the dead leg a standard tee or flush valve creates · critical wherever residual fluid would breed bacteria or contaminate the next batch. Used on bioreactors, fermenters, hold tanks, CIP skids, and any vessel that needs to empty cleanly between runs.

Welded Flange

Style 02

Tri-Tank

Same drain-optimized geometry, terminated in a tri-clamp connection instead of a weld. The right choice for vessels that strip and clean regularly · or where the valve must come off without breaking the weld.

Flow Coefficients & Self-Drain

Cv curves and self-drain geometry for the standard two-way valve family. Use these to size a valve against a specified flow rate at a given pressure drop, and to confirm that an installed valve will self-drain at the orientation it is being installed.

Documentation Packages

Every Aquasyn part ships with documentation procurement, QA, and validation engineers can actually use. Defensible under audit, traceable to heat number, machinist, inspector, and date. The standard package covers the audit case · additional documents available on request for validation, change-control, and customer-specific quality systems.

Standard documentation
Ships with every order
  • Material Test Reports (MTRs) · all wetted-surface materials
  • Certificates of Conformance · diaphragms
  • Surface finish profilometer readings · critical surfaces
  • ASME BPE-2024 chemistry compliance
  • Lot traceability · every component
Available on request
Add at order, or after
  • Weld logs · fabricated assemblies
  • Electropolish records
  • FAT / SAT documentation
  • Validation pack templates (IQ / OQ alignment)
  • Customer-specific change-control
  • Audit support · quality-system documentation
Traceability
Heat number to inspector signature
Every Aquasyn part traces back to the heat number on the raw material, the operator who machined it, the date it was inspected, and the inspector who signed off. The lot ID printed on the certificate of conformance reconstructs the full chain on request · the same chain that supports audit defense, deviation reports, and root-cause investigation if it ever comes to that.
Direct engineering access

Engineering and QA teams are accessible to specifiers directly · not through a sales filter. Material questions, deviation reports, and validation alignment go straight to the engineer who built the part.

Certification cross-reference

Full certification list (USP Class VI, FDA 21 CFR 177.2600, ASME BPE-2024, 3-A Sanitary, EN 10204 3.1, cGMP) detailed on the diaphragm-materials page · see p. 07.
